Ideally, because of the savannah climate with dry winters, the best times to explore the Ambato peninsula are from April to November.

How to get there

From Antananarivo, you have the choice of going by road to discover Malagasy folk landscapes or take a flight from Air Madagascar to Diego. After Ambanja, join the village of Ambaliha 25 kilometers from the RN6. A sustained track leads to the peninsula of Ambato, about 15 kilometers.

What to see

In front of the peninsula of Ambato is the island Nosy Faly, also called holy island. Just a few paddling strokes to join her. It is a sacred island containing the history of the ancient local dynasty known for the burial of Sakalava Bemazava. Well-preserved ecosystem, lush vegetation and remarkable land and sea fauna, the island offers an incomparable view of its neighbors Nosy Komba, Nosy Be and Nosy Mitsio.
